SteamRoLLer's Amateur Radio Page

I'm been an amateur radio operator since 1978. I started in the Canal Zone, Panama as KZ5MWN and an American call sign (The FCC handed out both calls simultaneously but we had to use the KZ5 call sign and privileges). KZ5 was a super DX location at that time, I got piled up/jammed most of the times from operators calling me right in the middle of my slow CW QSOs with another operator.

In my apartment, I currently have a Kenwood TS-570D feeding an indoor fan dipole (20m to 10m) typically running 30 watts. Now I am QRT due to interfering with a down stairs apartment with their stereo plus a touch lamp! So I am now using W2ZQ radio station for QSO's.
